Brand History

The story of PDR Cigars began in 2004 in Tamboril, the bustling cigar capital of the Dominican Republic. Originally established under the name Pinar Del Río as a tribute to Cuba’s premier tobacco-growing region, the company later rebranded to PDR Cigars short for Puros Dominican Republic, to proudly honor its home country. Under the direction of founder and Master Blender Abraham “Abe” Flores, the factory quickly stood out by combining time-tested Cuban methods with pristine Central American and Caribbean tobaccos. This dedication to traditional bunching and meticulous aging established the boutique brand as a highly respected heavyweight in the industry.

Across their expansive portfolio, PDR Cigars offer a dynamic spectrum of strength levels and rich flavor profiles. Milder offerings feature silky Ecuador Connecticut wrappers over well-aged Dominican binders and fillers, producing smooth-tasting notes of toasted cream, cedar, and light nuttiness. Conversely, their medium-full and full-bodied lines utilize dark Mexico San Andres, Ecuador Habano, and Brazilian wrappers over potent ligero filler leaves, pushing deep-tasting notes of dark cocoa, espresso, roasted oak, and black pepper.
