Foundation Cigar Company was established in 2015 by Nicholas Melillo, affectionately known throughout the industry as “Nick R. Agua.” After spending over two decades deeply immersed in tobacco agriculture and serving as the executive vice president and master blender at Drew Estate, Melillo launched his own venture to reflect his profound passion for authentic terroir. Headquartered in the historic tobacco-growing region of Connecticut, the brand serves as a symbolic homecoming for its founder while maintaining a global perspective, utilizing prime leaves from Nicaragua, Honduras, and Mexico. This deep-rooted connection to both the soil and the history of the trade sets the brand apart as a true purveyor of world-class smokes.
