Appearance and Characteristics

Visually, the Davidoff Year of the Monkey is a stunning example, with a rural darkish brown wrapper that includes a touch of oil and is very smooth to the touch. While there are a few clear veins, the cigar is a touch hard when crushed and includes a short braid on the cap. The wrapper’s smell combines strong espresso, nutmeg sweetness, black pepper, and almonds, while the cold draw brings flavors of dark fruit, creamy leather, cocoa, and black coffee.

Flavor and Smoke Characteristics

Beginning, the Davidoff Year of the Monkey has immediate dominant flavors of both creamy oak and earth, blended with different notes of severe coffee beans, cinnamon, cooked peanuts, and a bit of botanical. Although it doesn’t kick in until around 15 puffs in, there is particular caramel pleasantness on the retrohale that consolidates strikingly well with the available white pepper. The draw is excellent with a perfectly measured proportion of obstruction.

Smoke production is very thick of the foot, and the general strength hits a point somewhere between gentle and medium toward the end of the primary third. The Year of the Monkey holds the creamy oak flavor into the subsequent third and drops the natural note that was so predominant in the principal third, supplanting it with great milk chocolate on the finish.
