La Flor Dominicana Cabinet Maduro No. 6 Cigar Review

La Flor Dominicana Cabinet Maduro No. 6 Cigar Review

La Flor Dominicana (LFD) has deep connections with Cuba and sometimes borrows the Cuban-style tradition of cigar making and packaging. One of the Cuban traditions that the Dominican Republic company borrowed is the Cabinet packaging of cigars. Here, the best cigars are not banded and are packaged in cabinet boxes of 50. And, of course, they will be of limited production. One such cigar that the company has packaged this way is La Flor Dominicana Cabinet series Maduro No 6 – let’s review it!

La Flor Dominicana Maduro Cabinet No 6 Review

Like the Cabinet Maduro #5, the cigar was beautiful. The dark-brown wrapper was filled with oil which made it shiny. Its body was smooth with little veins and seams. There were no blemishes or soft and hard parts of it. An incredible construction, I must say.

Strength: Full
Country: Dominican Republic
Wrapper: Connecticut Broadleaf

The wrapper smelt of coffee beans and cream on the body, but the foot was leathery, nutty, and earthy. I used my cutter to chop the head off, and I got a perfectly clean cut. Sweetness, pepper, and spiciness were all I could smell.

My Xikar lighter was handy, and upon lighting, there were notes of chocolate, cream, nuts, and spice. Now I sipped my cappuccino coffee, and it felt like I was in heaven. Notes of wood, white pepper, and earth joined now.

There was a smooth transition to the second third, and the flavor became more intense. The strength also transitioned from medium to full. The flavor and taste profile hasn’t changed much, but the retrohale had a more leathery and earthy taste.

The final third had cocoa dominating the flavor profile. Notes of black pepper, white pepper, herbs, spices, leather, and citrus are also added to the flavor profile. I wonder why this is in a limited edition; it was a smooth stick to behold. It almost feels like a crime if you, as a connoisseur, have tasted it. Till the end, there was nothing too complex. Not too many flavors but all blended well.

Burn and Draw

The cigar had a nice draw, although there was some tightness. But not too tight to disturb things. The burn line was straight, and the ash a little flaky. Although at some point, I needed some touch-ups.

Final Thoughts

LFD Cabinet Maduro No.6 was almost like Cabinet No.5. Just a little difference in the flavor profile and burn time. This took a little longer to devour. Overall, the cigar is a nice consideration. Almost everything was perfect. Pair it with Cappuccino coffee in the morning or late in the evening, and you’ll be back to drop your thanks.
