Davidoff Gusto Review
The Davidoff Gusto is composed of two bands. The first resembles the classic White Label Davidoff. A classic cursive gold font is used to display the name “Davidoff” on a white oval field. Small gold circles surround the oval where to the right of the oval field is the word “GENEVE” in gold font. “TORO” is written in gold font to the left of the oval.
Davidoff Gusto’s smoking experience began with a short shot of black pepper. Cedar, natural tobacco, and cream were detected after the pepper subsided. Initially, the cedar notes took the lead, while the natural tobacco and cedar faded into the background. Some mineral, chocolate, and citrus notes joined the background notes. The retro-hale had a woody citrus note mixed with some red pepper. Midway through the first third, the pepper practically disappeared.
Davidoff Gusto’s natural tobacco notes intensify in the second third of the cigar and soon join the cedar notes as the dominant notes. It was the natural tobacco notes that dominated the second half. During this time, the chocolate notes decreased, and the citrus and mineral notes intensified.
Cedar notes replaced natural tobacco notes towards the end of the second third of the Davidoff Gusto. There were also mixed pepper notes on the tongue by this point. Citrus and mineral notes were also present. This is how the Davidoff Gusto concluded. To the touch, the nub felt soft, but its temperature was cool.
Are you interested in what the Davidoff Gusto would taste like with a Sumatra wrapper? The Davidoff Gusto is the cigar for you. The cigar does not undergo radical flavor transitions, but it has many nuances, which kept me interested. The flavors may not have been the most intense, but this cigar still offers more than your standard Davidoff White Label cigar.
Lastly, these cigars are hard to find, and if you don’t know where to find them. Cigar Country typically reviews cigars you can purchase, but we wanted to talk about a unique project for Davidoff and Diaz with a cigar such as this. The cigar is suitable for beginners as well as experienced cigar lovers. I would smoke this cigar again. If you can find them, I would pick up multiples to keep in the humidor.
