Davidoff Grand Cru Robusto Review
Size: 5 1/4″ x 52
The Davidoff Grand Cru Robusto is wrapped in a silky smooth claro wrapper. It is tightly packed with tobacco and exceedingly nicely rolled when squeezed. I observed a distinctive nipple on the cap, which is a clever touch to a cigar. There are only a few veins on the roll, and it fits perfectly in your hand.
Clip the cigar with my V-cutter and take a dry pull, which has a musty, wet forest floor flavor. Light up, and the first few puffs are a little dry on the mouth, with a medium body. The graham cracker touches the top of my mouth first, followed by woody undertones and cinnamon as the Grand Cru starts rolling. Take a retrohale, and the mustiness and earthy tones come through. The wood intensifies, accompanied by secondary notes of wetness and fungus. At this time, the cigar is producing a lot of smoke, and the body is still medium.
The Davidoff Grand Cru Robusto’s smoke billows as the cigar proceeds, and the foot displays gorgeous white ash. There are a lot of toast and cedar tones running through it. The burn line is quite precise. You’ll sense a brief cherry and wine taste that is rapidly overpowered by white pepper, but both flavors go away as fast as they occur. The cigar smokes quickly, but it’s not harsh, and the tobacco appears to burn evenly. The Grand Cru then gains a little more power, edging closer to the medium to full-bodied end of the range. At this point, taste some bitterness on the end, coupled with celery and herbal aromas.
Davidoff Grand Cru Toro Review
Size: 6″ x 54
Grand Cru Davidoff Toro is a cigar that may be considered Davidoff Classic’s younger, more modern relative. Davidoff Grand Cru is a simple, highly polished, and pleasant wine made in the Dominican Republic by Hendrik Kelner and associates. Davidoff Grand Cru is finished with a first-choice Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper leaf with a combination of 4-year-old Dominican fillers and a Dominican binder.
Despite being in the mild-medium range, the Davidoff Grand Cru Toro features a greater amount of Ligero tobaccos in the filler mix than its classic counterpart, giving it a little more bite. A creamy, little sense of spice and a delicate sweetness on the tip of the tongue complement the woody notes.
