La Aroma de Cuba carries a legacy that few brands can claim. Established in the 1880s, the brand gained international prominence when a young Winston Churchill arrived in Cuba in 1895 during the rebellion against the Spanish conquistadores. It quickly became one of his favored marques, solidifying its place in traditional cigar history 

In the early 2000s, the brand required a strategic revitalization to survive modern market demands while retaining its old-style Cuban allure. To achieve this, production moved to Estelí, Nicaragua, under the guidance of renowned master blender Jose ‘Pepin’ Garcia and his son, Jaime Garcia. Pepin, who built his expertise in Cuba’s most prestigious factories, brought authentic Cuban blending science to the rich, volcanic soils of Nicaragua. By doing so, the brand could bypass international trade restrictions while maintaining absolute fidelity to its historical flavor profile. 

Cigar Country has visited the My Father Cigars factory in Estelí to observe their agricultural practices firsthand. We understand the strict fermentation cycles and the exact science required to craft these premium recipes. 

Fun Fact: Beyond the complex tobacco science, the iconic lithograph artwork adorning every box and band is actually a meticulously restored 19th-century Cuban design. Instead of modernizing the logo during the 2000s relaunch, the brand chose to preserve the original artwork to honor its roots.</p>

This blend utilizes vintage Nicaraguan tobaccos to create a medium- full profile with tasting notes of leather, smoked wood, and white pepper.It consistently receives ratings of 86 to 89 points on leading websites such as Cigar Aficionado. The lineup includes Corona Extra,  Robusto, Toro, Churchill, and Torpedo.

La Aroma de Cuba Reserva: Crafted for the seasoned palate. It features a dark Mexican San Andrés Oscuro wrapper over a bold Nicaraguan core. The flavor profile is full-bodied, yielding intense tasting notes of hickory, molasses, and earth. Wrapped in an Ecuadorian Connecticut leaf with Nicaraguan binder and filler, this mild-to-medium cigar delivers smooth tasting notes of buttercream, almonds, and light cedar.
