Ashton cigars took eight years off producing a new cigar series in 2006; when they finally released one in 2014, it was the Ashton Symmetry line. The process of making these masterpieces took 4yrs of intense crafting. 

The Ashton Symmetry can be read to be “Ashton Balance” because it is an excellently balanced cigar line. It is somewhat between the Ashton Cabinet line and Ashton VSG line in terms of strength. It has all the greatness of Ashton cigars with one extra uniqueness – it contains Nicaragua tobaccos. This is the first of Ashton products to have Nicaraguan tobacco in them. 

Ashton Symmetry line is elegantly wrapped in a silky reddish-brown and oily Ecuador Habano wrapper with uniquely blended Dominican binders and Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. It offers notes of wood, spices, earth, cedar, and cream.

Ashton Symmetry Cigar Review 

For this review, I picked up one of my favorites – the Ashton Symmetry Prestige with a 6.25 inches by 49-ring gauge size. This is the largest cigar of the Symmetry series. As I picked up the cigar, I was struck by its smooth, lush, elegant, and pristine appearance. Its silky, oily, and brownish Ecuador Habano wrapper set my mood, preparing me for the relaxing smoking experience I was about to enjoy. The wrapper has slight seams and veins with a smooth consistency lacking any smooth or hard regions. Its band has a harmonious eye-pleasing combination of red, gold, and blue. On cold draw, I got notes of coffee, spices, cedar, leather, and earth. 

As I lit up the cigar, my palates were washed with notes of pepper, and after a few puffs, notes of cedar, leather, and some cream began to creep in. After a while, a great balance of medium smoke ensued. 

The second half came with a sweet fruity experience rounded up by leather and earth on a creamy, chocolaty background. The retro-hale mostly featured notes of cream, coffee, and some earth. Now I am clinching towards a full-bodied smoke. 

For the final third, I got immersed deeply in the cinnamon notes with spices and sweet notes of fruits. I finally finished up my one-hour experience with notes of nuts and earth. 

The experience was worth every bit of my time with its consistently even burn and perfect draw. No wonder it was ranked highly by the Cigar Aficionado.
