Brand History

Founded six decades ago and now operating under the prestigious Oettinger Davidoff AG umbrella, Camacho has solidified its reputation as the ultimate brand for high-intensity, attitude-driven tobacco. While the brand built its name on Honduran soil, much of their modern production is hand-rolled in their state-of-the-art facility in the Dominican Republic, with select blends still manufactured in Honduras. This transition allowed their Master Blender to maintain the aggressive, Corojo-heavy terroir that put them on the map while refining the construction protocols. When evaluating the general flavor profile, Camacho is overwhelmingly famous for its medium, medium-to-full and full-bodied strength. They heavily utilize their signature Honduran Corojo seed tobacco across the binder and filler, packing each vitola with a potent, earthy kick. 

While they offer the Connecticut line for smokers wanting a milder experience, the brand’s true DNA remains dark, heavy, and loaded with rich, spicy, and earthy tasting notes with a surprisingly smooth finish. A fascinating fun fact about this factory is that they are responsible for creating the world’s first-ever cigar to use Maduro tobacco for every single component: wrapper, binder, and filler.
