La Flor Dominicana was founded in 1996 by Litto Gomez, a former jeweler from Uruguay who moved to the U.S. and eventually made his way into the world of cigars. What began as a humble operation quickly transformed into one of the most respected boutique cigar brands in the industry.
From the start, Litto had a clear vision: to make cigars that are rich in flavor, perfectly constructed, and unapologetically full-bodied. But more than that, he wanted his cigars to reflect the soul and quality of Dominican craftsmanship. So he set up production in Tamboril, Santiago, Dominican Republic, and began building what would become one of the most vertically integrated and quality-obsessed cigar operations in the country.
Today, LFD grows most of its own tobacco on its estate farms and handles every step of production in-house—from seed to cigar.
