Atabey Cigars

Atabey Cigars is a super‑premium cigar line produced by Selected Tobacco S.A., under Nelson Alfonso (who has previous involvement with major cigar brands such as Cohiba and others).  The line is made in Costa Rica (factory “Tabacos de Costa Rica”) using a secret blend of high‑end tobaccos, wrapped in an Ecuadorian Shade or Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, with filler tobaccos that include Peruvian ligero, among others. What sets Atabey apart is its aging process and limited production. After rolling, the cigars are laid to rest for at least five years in cedar‑lined aging rooms (using multiple types of cedar such as Cuban, Spanish, Lebanese, Brazilian & Mexican), with humidity cycling to allow the cigars to “breathe” and acquire complexity. There are many different vitolas (sizes/shapes) such as Idolos, Divinos, Brujos, Sabios, Ritos, Delirios, etc., and the cigars are produced in limited quantities annually—making them exclusive and highly sought after among aficionados.
