What Does La Flor Dominicana (LFD) Cigars Logo Mean?

The La Flor Dominicana (LFD) cigar logo is one of the most iconic of all cigars. It’s simple, elegant, unique, and not just a pretty face. There’s more to this logo than meets the eye. Let’s dig into what makes this famous ring and head so special: The La Flor Dominicana logo is a single piece. The ring and head are one single part of the logo. They aren’t separate pieces that you can take apart, like the other brands’ logos.

What Does La Flor Dominicana (LFD) Cigars Logo Mean?

The flower on the cigar is a tribute to Litto Gomez’s wife, Ines Lorenzo. This talented artist and designer was also a co-founder of La Flor Dominicana and is known for her natural beauty. The La Flor Dominicana logo is supposed to represent the color and beauty of nature, as well as the “artistry” and “attention to detail” that goes into crafting each cigar.

The flower’s vibrant colors are meant to represent nature itself: red for passion, yellow for joy, blue for peace, and green for hope. The ring on top of the head is supposed to symbolize Litto Gomez’s dedication to his craft; this ring also features three knots representing family unity (the first two being represented by two interlinked rings).

The head isn’t a sunflower or magnolia. It’s a “sunflower” with a “magnolia”. And it also has other flowers on it:

  • A magnolia flower grows along the side of its head (the “sun”).
  • Another plant grows from its forehead, with long leaves and dark green coloration (the “magnolia”).
  • Finally, there’s another plant growing out of its mouth—a palm tree that gives off intense aromas when you light up!

The logo was designed by art director Luis Enrique Chaves-González during his tenure at Blanco y Negro Marketing Communications. A renowned artist and this logo is also part of Jose Blanco’s artwork.

The La Flor Dominicana Cigar logo is a tribute to Litto Gomez’s wife, Ines Lorenzo. The logo is supposed to represent the color and beauty of nature, as well as the “artistry” and “attention to detail” that goes into crafting each cigar. This logo has an impressive level of nuance and detail. It’s an exciting combination of two images: one from nature (the tree) and another from artistry (the hand).

The La Flor Dominicana Cigar logo exemplifies how clever and exquisite a design can be while using symbols and fonts to build brand awareness. You can see how they created an influential association between their cigars and the traditional design elements in paintings such as ‘The Last Supper’ by Leonardo Da Vinci.
