La Flor Dominicana (LFD) Oro Chisel Tubo Cigars Review

Before purchasing a box of La Flor Dominicana (LFD) Oro Chisel Tubo cigars, read this review! Oro — Spanish for Gold is Litto Gomez’s way of paying homage to his former career as a jeweler. It also highlights the royal feeling of smoking an LFD

La Flor Dominicana (LFD) Oro Chisel Tubo Review

Packed in distinctive golden tubes, these cigars are one of a kind. They are made from Lanela home-grown Dominican tobacco under the well-primed Nicaraguan wrapper. These cigars are often considered perfect for celebrations and gifts to important male figures in your life. With a patented shape that concentrates the smoke, you can expect a rich cloud of smoke from one of these beauties. The dominating flavor profile includes tingly ginger on the palate, strong hickory wood, and spicy leather.

Strength: Full
Country: Dominican Republic
Wrapper: Nicaraguan Habano Maduro

Housed in a dark coffee brown Nicaraguan Habano Maduro wrapper, which gave this cigar a rugged and sophisticated look. It has deep seams and lines running down its vertical axis. The unique wedge shape of the head stands out expectedly. A red, gold, and black hand adorn the body, giving it the classic LFD seal of approval.

Sweet, strong aromas of cocoa hit me in the face as I admired the shape. The cold draw added notes of black pepper, grass, and leather to the already sweet profile. Time to light up. Cocoa once again formed the highlight of my first few puffs. White and black pepper notes crept in as I took my puffs, making my eyes water a bit. The chat line was wavy, and the burn was slow and nice.

The second third introduced new waves of complexities to this cigar. My palate was baptized in the notes of chocolate, black cherry, molasses, honey, leather, and rich tobacco. However, the strength remained full-bodied despite the rich number of notes.

The final third introduced a sharp increase in the spicy notes and nicotine. The white pepper notes are now at the forefront of the notes, with all the cocoa, black cherry, molasses, and honey relegated to the background. At this point in the smoking session, I had retouched the smoke two times. Also, this cigar is for the experienced palate, as the spice and nicotine could be overbearing for newbies. I got around 2 hours of smoke from the cigar: the ash held nicely, a testament to the craftsmanship of LFD.

A solid and fun cigar for the right crowd. La Flor Dominicana (LFD) Oro Chisel Tubo Cigars has a rich and flavorful profile. However, the nicotine and spice blast could be overbearing for newbies.
