La Flor Dominicana is one of the cigar brands that is consistently releasing new cigars. In 2017, some of the cigars released by La Flor Dominicana were the LFD Factory Press, the LFD La Volcada Churchill, and the Colorado Oscuro No. 2, No. 3, No. 4, and No. 5.
La Flor Dominicana (LFD) Cigars of 2017
One of the La Flor Dominicana cigars of 2017 is the LFD La Volcada Churchill. This cigar was an incredibly anticipated release, with its name inspired by the roots of Litto Gomez, its founder. The name is a derivative of Uruguay and Spain, mainly inspired by the steps of a tango dance that originates in Uruguay. The filler leaves used in the Volcada are from the Dominican Republic, grown on Gomez’s farms in La Canela. The cigar has creamy smoke and looks pretty with a pigtail; smoking it is also a pretty journey. The LFD La Volcada Churchill cigar has a sweet scent of flowers and citrus, and a pleasant pepperiness with bitter notes of Angostura fused in one. The cigar is also infused with the sweetness of molasses, an earthy aroma, and the aroma of cacao and wood. All of these come together to make La Volcada Cigar irresistible.
This cigar is manufactured in a Churchill size with a ring gauge size of 48 and a length of 7”. This cigar is praised for its robust Maduro design, a perfect cigar to puff after a large meal or a few cocktails. This cigar has a strong taste which could also be attributed to the Maduro wrapper as it is made through a fermentation process that gives it a darker color and more robust flavor. The No. 3 is similar to the LFD Colorado Oscuro No. 2, only that it is a Robusto shape, whereas No. 2 is a Corona shape. The LFD Colorado Oscuro No. 4 and No. 5 are cigars with premium flavor and rich Maduro wrappers. The No. 5 cigar comes in a box of 50 at $445.50.
