These lighters are modern and sophisticated ways of lighting cigars, compared to match sticks or cedar spills. Torch or jet flame lighters are the commonest and loved by many aficionados. They burn around 2300F and are mostly wind-resistant; therefore, they can be used outdoors conveniently. These super-hot flamed lighters light up cigars in seconds. They can either be single jet, double jet, or triple jet, which have one, two, and three flame nozzles, respectively. Lighters with quadruplet jets having four nozzles are also available for bigger-sized cigars to achieve a wider distribution of flame at once.

Many torch butane lighter styles also have other unique features such as oversized refillable fuel tanks to avoid frequent refills, a fuel indicator or window for monitoring your gas level, and a retractable lid to prevent clogging. Soft lighters, on the other hand, burn roughly 1400°F. They burn less hot than torch lighters. It takes a little while to light cigars with them.
