Intrigued by their historical significance and unique flavor, he purchased the brand for a mere $149 and set out to transform Gurkha into a symbol of luxury and prestige in the cigar industry.

Hansotia's vision for Gurkha was to create exclusive, high-quality sticks that offered a unique smoking experience. He meticulously sourced the finest tobaccos from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and Honduras, blending them to create cigars that were not only rich in flavor but also visually stunning. The brand's packaging, often featuring intricate designs and ornate embellishments, quickly became a hallmark of its identity. One of Gurkha's most famous releases is His Majesty's Reserve, known as the world's most expensive cigar, retailing for over $1,000 each. This extravagant cigar is infused with Louis XIII cognac and wrapped in a Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper, epitomizing the brand's commitment to luxury.
