About Byron 21st Century
The Byron “21st Century” iteration (Siglo XXI) seeks to capture how cigar making has evolved in the modern era: more aged tobaccos, refined blending, attention to aroma and complexity rather than just strength. The cigars are produced in Costa Rica, rolled by hand in factories using long‐filler methods. Aging is a key part of the production: tobaccos are aged before rolling and then further matured post roll (often in cedar/french oak settings) to smooth out harsh edges and develop depth.
For the blend, Byron 21st Century uses an Ecuadorian wrapper (often Shade or Connecticut Shade depending on the specific vitola), with fillers from Dominican Republic and other undisclosed origins. The binder may be Dominican or Peruvian, depending on the cigar. The line includes several vitolas (e.g. “Elegantes”, “Distinguidos”, “Aristocratas”), typically medium size ring gauges (around 54‑55) and toros or gordo varieties.
