Atabey Black

Atabey Black is a medium-full luxury cigar line from Selected Tobacco S.A., created by Nelson Alfonso — the Cuban artist and master blender behind the iconic Cohiba Behike branding. Made at the Tabacos de Costa Rica S.A. factory, Atabey Black is defined by one distinguishing commitment above all else: patience. After rolling, each cigar spends five years aging in rooms lined with Spanish cedar and French oak, allowing the blend to develop a depth of character that very few cigars in the world can claim. Only extremely limited quantities are released each year, making every vitola in the Black line a true collector's cigar.

Made at the Tabacos de Costa Rica S.A. factory, the Black line shares the same DNA as the core Atabey line but pushes into darker, richer territory. Each cigar is rolled and then aged for five years in rooms lined with different cedar varieties and French oak in Spain, with humidity cycled between 40% and 70% to allow the tobacco to breathe and absorb the nuances of its cedar environment.
